News, elucidation and outlooks
on strategy consulting

In the last two years, department of Immigration Minister, Peter Dutton has been revealed to have spent more than $26 million with management consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group. According to The Australian, one of BCG’s lucrative contracts has included restructuring the department itself, and that the fee had been upgraded from an initial $370,000 to $2.8 million. The timing of these revelations comes as the future of several other government posts reportedly hang in the balance. A spokesman said BCG sprovided “independent expert advice around government and industry best practice, product and market options, service delivery models and planning for successful large scale change.” It added: “For example, since 2015 the department has been exploring how it will manage the challenges it expects to face in delivering visa and citizenship services over the next decade.”
