McKinsey & Company partner Lynn Taliento has been appointed to the newly created role of chief programme officer at the Obama Foundation. Taliento, who has advised the former US president and Michelle Obama for the last five years will be responsible for “programmes that will train the next generation of engaged citizens, community organisers and world leaders,” according to Chicago’s Sun Times, which is reporting the news. Her appointment comes as the foundation begins work on its future programming schedule, in advance of the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park in 2022. Taliento has so-far built up an impressive 18-year career at McKinsey & Company, during which time she has co-founded the firm’s nonprofit practice (which has since become the Social Sector Office). She specialises in strategic planning, leadership, organisational design, board governance, and advocacy strategies.
