News, elucidation and outlooks
on strategy consulting

Just five companies – one of which is Boston Consulting Group – won consulting contracts worth Australian $130 million in the last financial year ( US$ 96 million), according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper. It finds BCG made Australian $13 million (US$ 9,6 million), from the Department of Immigration alone, who paid it approximately $12.5 million for “just five projects,” – all in an advisory capacity. Although the paper does not suggest any wrongdoing, it highlights how government departments are refusing to answer simple questions about the nature of the work that taxpayers are paying for. It brands projects as having ‘vague’ titles – such as “strategic business advice services.” The paper reports that a Boston Consulting Group spokesman said it did not “discuss client work.”
