The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Australian High Commission and McKinsey & Company are all reported to have signed a tri-partite memorandum of understanding to suggest ways to improve and increase tax collection. It is believed McKinsey will help run a diagnostic review of the PRA to then come up with ideas for improve tax revenues to the tune of Rs150 billion in the next three years – up from Rs61.6bn for 2015-16. The Australian tax system is one of the most efficient, and revered in the world. The memorandum of understanding was signed in a ceremony at the PRA headquarters in the presence of Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha.
