News, elucidation and outlooks
on strategy consulting

A Freedom of Information request has named Oliver Wyman and Boston Consulting Group as two of a number of consultancies who began working for the Department for Existing the EU (DexEU) just months after last June’s Brexit vote. A total of eight consultancies have been working with the government since last July - with most of them (including Oliver Wyman) doing so on a pro-bono basis. But the fact BCG is one of two being paid has angered Liberal Democrat leader, Tim Farron. He said: "This Government's hard Brexit plans are set to line the pockets of civil servants and consultants while dealing a blow to jobs and living standards for everyone else." The request reveals DexEU took on three Boston Consulting Group secondees to provide "policy development support" on civil service salaries last October. Two are still working there.
