News, elucidation and outlooks
on strategy consulting

Two of McKinsey’s top consultants – Andrew Grant, and Seelan Singham – are being described as being ‘controversial’ choices of speakers, after it was announced they are to be invited speak at an event on 15th March at the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office auditorium. Their presentation on ‘The Civil Service of the Future’ is being held in the wake of previous dealings between the government and the consulting firm that have been questioned in the past. Most notably was the recent establishment – with the Malaysian Office of Mckinsey Consultants – to create a Central Project Management Unit of the Policy Development Office, at a reputed cost of $2.3 million US. Singham has been with McKinsey since 1993. He is senior partner at its Kuala Lumpur office, and is a leader of the Public Sector Practice.
