Last week’s World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos saw McKinsey’s global institute director, Jonathan Woetzel pledge to handle major new investment opportunities for Chinese firms entering Andhra Pradesh, one of the 29 states of India.
Woetzel announced that McKinsey would take on responsibility for bringing 20 of the most important companies and investors from China together, to network and discuss potential opportunities they can get into. Woetzel also confirmed that specific plans for this would be finalised over the next three months. Based in China since 1985, Jonathan Woetzel has been instrumental in building McKinsey & Company's China office. In addition to his work helping Chinese and other Asian businesses prepare for global growth, Woetzel is a director of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey's business and economics research arm.
