Cisco’s former managing director for India & SAARC, Purushottam Kaushik, has joined McKinsey in an advisory capacity. Kaushik, who was responsible for $2 billion of business at Cisco, will now be a senior advisor to McKinsey’s Smart Cities practice, and will also advise McKinsey’s Pune Smart City project and take plans with other cities going forward. In his new role, he will spend 50% of his time with McKinsey. He will also act as an adjunct associate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIB), to mentor students on the Internet of Things and Smart Cities. Kaushik is a graduate of Banaras Hindu University, with an MBA in marketing in 1995. Before working for Cisco, he was an account director at Nortel. He said: “I am very excited about my diverse engagements with McKinsey and IIT-Bombay.”
