Boston Consulting Group has opened a new innovation centre in Paris, showcasing what it calls ‘4.0 technology’ – everything from smart to automation technology. The ICO – or Innovation Centre for Operations, is open to public, and according to BCG allows visitors to "take a dive" and see the potential of new technology and how it has the power to transform production processes. The ICO will be staffed by a team of consultants, as well as a supportive ecosystem of academic and technology partners. Recent research suggests that between now and 2020 €140 billion is set to be invested in Europe alone in the development of Industry 4.0, with global investments expected to reach a level of $ 4.5 trillion by 2020.
