UBS has hired Mike Dargan to be its new CIO. Dargan began his career at Oliver Wyman in 1999, after graduating with an MA in PPE from Oxford.
At Oliver Wyman, he became head of Corporate and Institutional Banking for the Asia-Pacific Region from their Singapore office. In 2005, he left Oliver Wyman for a management position at Merrill Lynch.
He was then promoted to managing all of the bank’s markets outside of the U.S. He movedin 2009 to Standard Chartered Bank to head their strategy for global markets. Dargan worked in this post for the next four years, he then switched tracks to become the CIO of Stanchart’s financial markets business.
At UBS, Dargan will focus on transforming the bank’s technology and increasing efficiency.
