L.E.K. Consulting said 1 July that it has appointed Junsuke Usami as managing director and partner, where he will focus on the Tokyo office’s retail and consumer products. He will also focus on industrials and financial services.
Usami has over 20 years of experience in the sector, and was most recently Fast Retailing Company’s Fast Retailing Management and Innovation Center group officer. He has also been a partner at the Boston Consulting Group, spending 13 years at the company and leaving in 2008. He was also a Managing Partner and Industry Leader at Sigmaxyz Inc. for 3.5 years, leaving in 2012. He has a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
“An expert in the financial services, consumer goods, and industrials sectors, Junsuke has extensive experience advising clients on strategic growth and global business leader development across Japan and Asia,” Tokyo Managing Director and Head of office Ray Fujii said.
“His experience developing executive leaders and fostering management transformation in Japan will be a great asset to the firm,” John Thomas, head of L.E.K.’s Asia-Pacific region, said.
